Sibusiso Mzwandile Mabuza, know as "Rendition" is a Swazi record producer, recording artist, songwriter and Co-Founder of digital entertainment platform and record label MotherLand X.
Having begun his career in 2011 as a deep house producer, Rendition founded a group called Rhythm Lab Project which consisted of two other members. The group released (USA) collaborating with Canadian duo Beauty and The Breakdown (Amber Long & Mason Bach), the song was picked up by one of the designers at Ottawa Fashion Week in the same year. Fast-forward 3 years later Rendition and 3 of his childhood friends who were based in Chicago established an independent label, MotherLand X(inspired by the soulection movement), with the aim to cater for a niche market that was being overlooked in Swaziland, electronic music.
Rendition's sound is a blend of Hip Hop, edm and soul music infused with authentic African sounds, inspired by producers like Kaytranada, Flume and Sam Gellaitry. MotherLand X currently works with over 40 producers from all around Africa collaborating and releasing free remixes and instrumental music on Soundcloud. Rendition was challenged to produce MLX's first signee, Swazi rapper 80 Script and the result was the critically acclaimed and award-winning EP "You Do The Dishes" which was profiled on CNN's Inside Africa in 2016, it immediately propelled 80 Script and Rendition to the absolute top of Hip Hop in Swaziland.
In 2016 Rendition got to work & produce for Una Rams, Usanele, Phaatoonz/Dipopai, Ctea(Ghana), Dr Jazz(Nigeria), Oriiginelle(Swaziland), KRTC(Swaziland) and a host of other artists. Rendition went on to become a solo artist releasing an instrumental EP titled "The Kids Are Alright" with instrumentalistVuma and collaborating with AutoPilot from Germany in 2016.He is currently working on his Debut EP as a recording artist.
