Masonwabe 'Judge Maso' Sibotho — is a creative, song writer, record producer and audio engineer, from Manxeba, Eastern Cape — On a mission to make 'rapping in ISIXHOSA' so cool by making a name for himself in the industry.

At 19, Masonwabe went from just freestyling & finessing random beats on the internet to actually making music. Improving every aspect of his art, by becoming a lyrical beast with an undeniable skill at rhyming. The kind of music he creates isn't just unique but equally raw, brought together with originality, it also stands as a source of pride for people from his tribe. So many paths were pointed in his direction, Instead he stuck with passion for the art that has finally led him to this point in time.
In 2020, family/friends restructured the way they viewed his career in the industry after his first song titled NO STRESS got Airplay on national & local Radio channels 5FM, Takalani FM e.t.c. The Music Video made it to Channel O, Cape TV, got rotation time on Soweto TV.

Judge Maso dubs Cassper Nyovest as one of his earliest inspirations to start making music after hearing the song 'Phumakim', paving way for what he now refers to as a fun rap style. Judge Maso is still currently gaining traction from his record with MusiholiQ which was playlisted on silkourlife & other outlets. Opening more doors for him, from Newspaper features, Sportscene Studios inviting him to use their facilities for recording. There is absolutely no Limit to what he can achieve at this rate, his moves have been yielding so many good results.

Judge Maso has been cooking some new music with the well known ISIXHOSA rapper Flash ikumkani, they're scheduled to drop a single on the 11th of August 2023 entitled Dankie Syabonga . This combo is what both fanbases have been hoping for and they've finally gotten their wishes.

QnA with Judge Maso

1. Who are you you ? :
A. Masonwabe Sibotho formally known as Judge Maso is a creative, song writer, record producer and Audio Engineer, who is from a small village called Manxeba in Sterkspruit and is making a name for himself in the music industry. I make hip hop music n make rapping in isiXhosa seem cool

2. Inspiration to begin :
A. Cassper Nyovest was the inspiration for me to start making music because I was already a fan of hip hop but when he came in he made the whole thing look fun, interesting to do and he did it in his language. From the day I heard "phumakim" it changed everything. I officially started doing music when I was 19 but before that I had been freestyling and rhyming to random beats on the Internet. At 19 after my matric, I had time for the music and because I had heard the likes of Nasty C which was very young at that time doing the most which was very inspirational so I worked hard to improve my raps and all.

3. Description of work
A. My work is art and my real life story because I write from the heart I want everyone to relate to the music. I belive music is spiritual so it's only fair I put out the truth and my aspirations. If you want to know Me just listen to the music and you'll know me better.

4. Music playing on TV:
A. Seeing my music play on TV was my proudest moment because I had to convince my parents to let me do this as they wanted me to go to tertiary. It was also a solidifying moment that I'm serving my purpose n I'm on the right journey.

5. Balancing Everything
A. To be honest when you doing what you love you don't even struggle to make anything work because everyone you meet or everything you do is connected to this dream.

6. Plans for 23/24 :
A. I want to break into mainstream, break into Africa, get a few endorsement deals but Music wise I want to drop lots music might even drop a mixtape. But this coming Friday (28) I'm having my first drop of the year featuring Flash ikumkani that I'm hoping it reaches a wider audience.

7. Biggest sacrifice :
A. Tertiary but I'm glad because today I know what it means to stand by your word.

8. Where do you draw inspiration ? :
A. I get my influence from my life story like I've been through hell and back but still I remain strong. I worked for what's about to happen and I'm glad it will come now when I'm more grown n wiser. 

9. The Process
A.The writing is my favourite because I get to peel and share a part of me that I was insecure about for the longest of time. I get to write my story on how I want it to be received and I get you to help you know yourself too coz I write my truth.

A. I'd love to work with Emtee, Nasty C, Cassper Nyovest and Maphorisa on production
