Question & Answer Interview

1. When and why did you start music?
 A. I started music in 2014/2015 but my DJs have been at it for years before we became a group. (Reason) why we did is quite simple, realising that music is not only a broken heart remedy but it's actually a lifestyle. And some things are just better off expressed musically for example feelings.

2. Who/ What inspires you to write your poetry?
A. Well, i battled to express my feelings to people and I would be silent about things until I realised that I was able to write about these feelings. And that would make me feel better, the experiences that I go through and my future expectations. some dreams are better written down as a memory and so is the past better written down than relying on your memory to remember things. It's better to write than saying things because our tones differ. What also inspires me is the need for art, you see having this skill is rare, some claim to have it but they know deep down they aren't.With me its different because I know and I feel that I am a poet.

3. Which famous musicians do you admire?
A. Emeli Sande

4. What are your fondest musical memories?
A. When we hosted our own event, after our hard work for so long we finally had something that was ours.  After my performance even the following week people still called out to me in the streets and thanking me for a great performance. It is quite great to have someone tell u that they appreciate your work.

5. How do you balance your music with other obligations - mate, children, job?
A. By placing your priorities right knowing which times to focus on what.
With school I give it my all, I also give it my all in music u know those extra hours do pay off.
My partner supports me every time and that's one thing I love about him he is a patient person and understanding too.

6. Do you get nervous before a performance?
A. Yes, I do, you know one faces a different crowd every time and some of these people are clueless of who you are and you aren't sure if they will enjoy what you present to them, but I can tell you one thing, immediately when they see you enjoying yourself on stage. They will also enjoy your performance.

7. Where do you see yourself OR the Groove Experience in 3 years time?
A. I see myself doing well in both career and poetry.
And with the groove experience, I want us to be having shows out of the country and inspiring other musicians to join us so we can help them explore the life of being in the spotlight and how to balance life with all these.
