Question and Answer Interview with Concious Noah (Q & A)

1.) Who are you and what do you represent? (tell us about yourself)
A. My name is Dennis Ntsume, stage name Oishi HaoN, but better known as Conscious NoaH. I am a conscious rapper whose talent is in producing knowledge filled content in a musical manner while ensuring that it is different from anything they might have heard before. I refuse to be basic in my craft, and simply represent the minority of artists who still believe that, in rap, your words should always be more important the flow. Only when you balance them out without having to compromise the extent to which you can use those words, or the flow in which you can use to deliver them, you will have truly mastered the art known as rap.

2.) What makes you different from the other rappers who are participating in this rap contest ?
A. I have the ability to use wordplay in a manner that is both catchy and informative. I refuse to be average and I always ensure that what I say is worth listening to. Some may not understand it at first, but when listening to the words used, and the context in which they're used, the end result is always a mindful of wordplay with an interesting story to show for it.

3.) Why do you deserve to win this contest?
A. My intention has always been to prove that I am an elite artist with a significantly superior calibre of artistry, and I believe that my verse showcased that, both lyrically and rhythmically.

4.) Would you say that you are a good role model?
A. No, like every other human being, I have flaws and I do make mistakes, but giving up is just not for me. I however don't believe that anyone should aspire, nor should they hope to be anything like me because beyond the music and academic part of my life, I haven't really made much of an impact in life to be a role model, but if they do, all they would notice are my ambitions to be the best, my extreme work ethic and the amount of pride I have in my work.

5.) What goal do you want to have achieved in 2021/2022?
A. To at least have a stable enough platform where I can distribute my music to people. Be it 10-15 listerners, or 100 of them, I just want to have been heard because I believe that I a lot to say, and many different ways to say it.

6.) What was the hardest sacrifice you had to make when preparing for your Round 2 entry video?
A. Nothing, the amount of work I put in to my verse was no different from the amount of work I'd put into a song or mixtape. It's always go hard, or don't do it at all.

7.) Who or What inspired your Round 2 verse?
A. My competitive instinct, which is always to outshine, outrank and dominate all my competition, and to ultimately prove why I am very different from your average "rapper."

8.) What is your favorite part about this contest?
A. Receiving the responses from the public. It might not be what I expected to get at times, but hearing the opinions of the collective at least gave me a better understanding of how people may react to me or my music in their first encounter with "Conscious NoaH".

9.) Apart from yourself, who else do you think has the potential to win this competition?
A. Vuli F or 54 Swaggaza

10.) If you could describe this experience in 3 - 5 lines, what would you say?
A. It was very educational! I got to notice some positives and negatives about my craft, and how it is perceived, while ultimately learning about the kind of lyrical content and delivery most listeners want, which is something more intuitive and less complex.
